Landing in Ottawa on Monday!!!

I almost can't believe it. Of course the house is still not sold, and this is just a landing to stop my PR VISA expiring, but it's still a step closer.

I've got all my paper work collated, including my tiny Goods to Follow list, it seems way too small, but then again we're not taking that much. About 10 boxes of stuff and my guitars.

I aim to sort out the 1st steps while over, I'll be getting my SIN requested and obviously need my inlaws to send over the PR card when it arrives.

It's starting to get real woohoo!

Are you renting the house? Do you have to show proof of funds when you land?

Sorry for the belated responses, I've been trying to relax.

As for the flights we used US Airways and it was a nightmare, we were delayed by weather problems in Philly so missed our connection to Ottawa so were put on a flight to Montreal instead. After rechecking our bags in Philly we were told our flight had been cancelled and it could be 2 days before we could get on a flight to Canada...luckily we got on standby and got through to land in Montreal that night.

The whole thing took a total of 10 minutes and was completely painless. I am worried though that when I gave him my goods to follow list, he said he didn't need it! Now I'm worried I'm going to get stung with an import tax on our stuff.

Oh and US Airways also lost our baggage, it took us two days to get it back...seriously fly direct in future,it wasn't worth the £100 we allegedly saved on the flights, considering we had to hire a car to drive from Montreal to Ottawa.

Because we were a spousal app, we didn't need to show any proof of funds at all.
