landing experience: manitoba
landed in emerson manitoba just a few days ago..believe me the cold did actually freeze my nose hairs..they were not kidding when they warned me about it..
anyways, got a copy of my COPR back and the immigration officer asked me to apply forthe PR card seperately..i intend to do so by downloading forms from the cic website.
As for the visa, they put a stamp on it saying 'canceled without prejudice'..is this normal? i mean did they do it cos i am now a permanent resident and as such the visa is now obsolete? Cos she did clearly tell me that i am indeed a PR with all the rights and priveleges of a citizen except the right to vote and to run for public office.
Would appreciate a reply to my questions.
Thanks

Hi
Odd that they asked you to apply on your own for a PR card. It should have been processed at Emerson. Oh well you cant tell what CBSA is doing these days. It was cancelled because as you guessed you are a PR and don't require it.

Hello,
I am coming over for a week then returning back to the UK.
I was looking at the web site concerning filling in the PR card application and it was not straight forward. After reading your comments it sounds that this is all completed at immigration port.Is this correct?
