Default Landing

Hi Guys,

We got our PR VISA a month or so ago, and are now in the process of trying to sell the house... It is possible that I will have to go out to Canada (preferably on my own) and activate the VISA and then return to the UK.

I have a few questions about landing and activating the VISA. - I do appreciate that I need to have filled out the appropriate paperwork (in respect of goods to follow) and have proof of funds, etc.

1) Am I right in thinking that only I (the principle applicant) need to land and activate the VISA? If this is the case, do I need to take the rest of my families (who were included in the original application) passports with me? Will they be considered automatically landed once I have activated the VISA? How will they be able to demonstrate this?

2) Once I have landed I can return to the UK, and we then have 3 years before we need to be in Canada (or we will loose our PR status)?

3) Given that I only intend to spend a few days in Canada after activating the VISA. Should I start the ball rolling on social security cards (for all of my family), health cards, driving licenses?

4) Is there anything else that I should be doing on this occasion?

Best regards,

James.

Hi

It is my understanding that you as the PA have to land first, but your family members also have to "land" aswell , this could be after you, but has to be before the expiry date of the visa( 1 year after meds taken)

Here is a link to some more info

Good luck
