We went to our interview June 5th and haven't heard from LA since - the visa
officer did tell us that they had some difficulties ahead since one of the
officers there resigned, and he was due to return to Canada for a while...

He told us to expect to hear from them in one to two months, it's been
almost two months, so we'll see.

Nick B,

Nice to know you're still around. Is the immigration officer you mentioned going on vacation or what? Or are we going to have to wait untill someone else replaces him?

It's nothing personal - but I'd rather not be around - I'd rather all this
be done with!

The officer we had is due for return to Canada for a while, I'm guessing on
vacation as he was talking about going home to New Brunswick - the whole
thing came up because he and I (at different times) were stationed at the
same Army base in NB, and he's from there.

I think they were interviewing new potential officers there, and there was
another one working there. He told us things might slow down a little bit
but that things would keep moving nonetheless. I don't know exactly what to
make of it all, but we'll see. The mail strike looming in Canada may turn
out to be the bigger problem.

Cheers!

N.

Nick B,

Thanks for your response. I do understand your feelings about not being around. Its just that l was beginning to think we were the only people in this time line. The waiting and suspense is very fraustrating but again we should be thankful that we've been able to get the interview and medicals out of the way.
Please let us know as soon as you hear from LA. I will also keep you posted if anything comes up.
All the best.

Spoke to CIC on the 1-800 number today - they're still waiting for Joy's
medicals to arrive and that's all that's holding things up...

Nick B,

Thanks for the update. I wonder if thats what is holding ours also. We had our medicals in first week of May. I,m sure Joy did her medicals earlier since your interview was a week before ours.
Its getting to 3months now after the medicals. Lets hope we hear from them soon.

Cheers

She did the medicals about the same time... May 9th if I remember right.

By the sounds of what I was told, once the medicals go in the letter (RfP)
will be sent out from L.A.

1-800-242-2100, hit 1 for English, 2 for immigration, then 0 to reach an
agent. You'll need your client number and to verify some information (DOB,
place of birth, etc.) and they can look up the file.
