Job Offer - EE/PR
Hi All,
I've been offered a job to go with my EE application for permanent residency. Everything is being processed as we speak, however i've been offered a much better job earning more money and in a better location. Am I expected to take the job which was accompanying my EE application when we land in Canada or would I be able to go with the other option??
Thanks for your advice!

Depends which stream for EE you applied for. If under the FSW then no job is required. If under a PNP and job specific then you would run into problems. Which stream did you apply under?

We're under FSW, job offer was just a bonus and gave us extra points etc.

I'd be a little bit cautious here. Technically speaking, you don't have to work in that job, however if CIC thought you had committed misrepresentation in your application, you could have PR revoked at any point (even if years down the line). When you say 'everything is being processed', exactly what stage are you at? And would you have scored enough to get PR without this job offer? If it later becomes obvious that fairly early on in the process you had no intention to do the job you'd been offered, then there might be a possible misrep case.
Presumably your current potential employer went through the hassle and cost of a LMIA app for you? So they might not be best pleased when you tell them you're not going to be working for them after all, and may just decide to 'grass you up' to CIC.
So whilst officially you don't have to do the job you've been offered, personally I wouldn't risk jeopardising my PR status, depending on what stage of the application you're at.

I have just applied for a few jobs and not sure how Canada does the long distance interviews?
Thanks
