Default Jim/Experts – Just how long can a applicant be made to wait without an Answer?

Hi there,

I have applied to CHC London in Oct 2001.

Initial Timeline suggested an interview to be held within 12-15 months.

The next letter in Feb 2003 suggested to fill the new forms and IELTS result and an expected decision with a maximum of 3 months. I have duly filled and sent this info a year back in April 2003.

In all I have waited 30 months without an Decision. I guess its twice the initial timeline. I sent them a letter asking for the status of my application in Feb'04 but haven't received a reply.

Now my question can the authorities make you wait endlessly without a decision, are they trying to frustrate us and wanting us to withdraw our applications. What options does one have then other then waiting and ofcourse other than giving up?

Yours is an old Act case that should be processed now. There was a delay
while the department tried to solve its overload in a too sly manner. Now
that they have ben told to get on with things there should be some action
soon. You might consider requesting the CAIPS notes to see whether there is
some special problem with your application. There are at least two websites
that can arrange that for you. Once you have them you can consider what
other steps to take if there is still no action.
