Default IRPA transition regulations Changes ???

Dear Andrew & Other Experts

Pertaining to the subject below

"Proposed Changes to the Skilled Worker Transition Regulations
Pre-Publication October 11 to October 26, 2003"

I would want to know when would these regulations come into effect. If so now after wasting a whole year would they reschedule interview for us like it was in the old rules or if we meet the 67 criteria in new rules would they prefer to give us waivers. In short would they consider which is better for the applicant or would they strictly go by the order ie: first old rules and then new rules. Pls advise

First - it is only a proposed text, it may or may nor be adopted in current
version, it may be changed. It will still take some time to have the final
version approved and it is impossible to tell you exact date when changes
will come into effect.

Second - it will apply only to applications received prior to 2002.

Third - if implemented as proposed then such pre-2002 applications will be
assessed under the old law with 70 points pass mark in the old law's
selection grid and only if not qualified will then be assessed under IRPA
with the pass mark in force at the time of assessment.

I have a question for Miller and Jim,

I applied for skilled immigration on Nov. 2001, and my interview will be talking place at detroit on october 21. If I am to be evaluated by under the IRPA I score only 66, but by former immigration act I score 75.

what do you think would happen to my case?

Thankx.........
Rosemary

Thanks for the comments Andrew.

Thankyou Rosemary for your input too. I think you will also be given a chance to be evaluated under the old rules and could request the interview officer for the same. All the best to you.
