Default Investor Timeline ?

We have just got a receipt from London for our Investor application with 42 months until they respond. Is there anyone going or who has gone through the Investor route who could share their experience so far ?

Thank You.

The federal Investor route is the worst you could have taken as far as processing time is concerned. Why didn't you hire an experienced in business class immigration practitioner who would have advised you which program to select and assist you in achieving processing time in under 18 months? It is not that you couldn't afford it.

Hi Andrew
We did hire an immigration lawyer and they gave us a timeline of 14-18 months. Do you know anyone going through or who has gone through the Investor Federal route ? How would I find out how many investor applications Canada receives and how many they are currently approving this year ?
I have learnt so much from this board.
Thank you for your help.

Lawyer lied to you or at least misrepresented facts. Unfortunately too many immigration practitioners lie about processing times just to get a client.

At present applications in federal Business class (including Investors) take about 1 to 2+ years longer to process than applications in federal Skilled Workers class.

Finding out how many applications are received will not change the facts, so it is pointless.

That's odd, as mine took 10 months.

Also my bank, that deals with the more investor applicants (high net worth) than any other, advises that it takes about a year to 15 months so long as your application is professionally prepared.

Have things substantially changed recently?

Yup, here is a quote from CIC.

"Citizenship and Immigration Canada has made a commitment to finalize 1,000 federal investor cases in 2006. These cases will be processed in the order in which they have been received at visa offices around the world. Applications submitted before July 2004 will be assessed in 2006. Applications received from July 2004 on will not likely be finalized before 2007."
