Hello folks,
Here is my timeline:
- June 11, 2001 applied to Buffalo CIC as independent applicant
- Sept 11,2001 AOR
- Jan 2002, initial assessment letter, stating that interview is required. File
expected to be transferred to Seattle within 7-10 months.
Can anybody tell me what is the current waiting time for interview in the
Seattle office?
How do they decide where to transfer particular applications to?
Is there any "specialization" of the CIC offices in LA, NY, Seattle?
Dmitrii

Only a guess these days because of the numbers of applicants applying through
Buffalo, but I would think that about 8-10 months for an interview a Seattle. The
offices do not specialise, and your applications is sent the office closest to where
you reside.

The file is sent to the office closet to where you live only if you did not specify your preference in the initial application. Once can select the interview location.

Hello everybody,
Yes, I received medical forms. with the initial assesment letter along.
I reside in Kingston (Ontario) now, doing PhD program at a university. The closest
CIC office is that one, which is in NY. In my application I indicated NY as a
preferred place for the interview.
The last letter from Buffalo stated that my file is in the queue for the transfer
to Seattle. That looks as if there is a kind of reason for that... That's why I
was asking...
