Interview outcome

Approved........ is what the interviewer said after 45 minutes of questioning.

Here is the sequence of events.

Reported 20 mins before the interview time. An embassy staff collected all our (self & wife) original education & work related documents. Then we were called in after 15 minutes for the interview. The interviewer explaind why we have been called for the interview. Then he went through my application(principal applicant) thoroughly. he asked me if what I have mentioned in our application form are accurate. I answered yes. The he asked me to run through my education certifications. I did so. After that he asked me to run through my work related experience. I explained each and every position I had held in the past showing him all the original testimonials. He asked me to explain how I would go about designing a software application. I answere him. Since all my education is in mechanical engineering, he asked me why I switched my career to IT. I answered him. he also aked how I convinced my first IT employer to hire me as I did not have any IT experience. I answered that also. After that he asked me why I chose Toronto as my destination. The he asked me and my wife about funds. We showed our bank statements and I think he was satisfied. He asked my wife if we had any relatives in Canada. He also told her that if it is required then her would go through her documents also. But at the end he did not. he just said we have been approved and then will mail the medical forms in a week. The officer was courteous and friendly. Thats it.

I owe a big thanks to all the people on this NG who helped us get through this. especially Mr Miller.

And by the way the CHC is Singapore.

Hope that helps

Cheers

Re: Interview outcome

Congratulations ! I guess you must be very happy after waiting for more than one year.

May I know what work documents did you submit. There are 4 types.

1. Letter of reference
2. Employment letter
3. Testimonials (can be different from letter of reference)
4. Pay slip/income tax return

Were they notarized and from whom did you get them notarized ?

Thanks.

Re: Interview outcome

When I submitted my application 1 year ago I submitted a notarized copy of all my documents. During my interview I showed him the original docs. As for the work documents, for the current employer I showed a reference leter and payslips
and for the previous employers I showed testimonials.

Cheers
