Interview Call & A Question !

Dear Friends,

I got a letter from the RPC Buffalo that my interview is scheduled for
January 8th, 2003. The interview will be in Los Angeles, California.
Here is my time line for people who may be interested:

Applied: July (last week) 2001
AOR: October (1st week) 2001
Initial Assessment: May (last week) 2002
Interview Letter : October 22, 2002 Interview Date: Jan 8, 2003
Category: Independent Skilled Worker Program

I, however, have a question:

1. Assuming the interview goes well. How long before I get a call to
send in my passport for stamping of the visa? I have been asked to
take my medical tests before I go for my interview. That probably
explains the 2 months gap before the interview date.

Any suggestions or tips is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
RK

Re: Interview Call & A Question !

Very good. Undergo the medicals immediately so that there is ample time for the results to arrive in Los Angeles from Ottawa. By the time you appear for the interview in January, medical results will be ready and if all goes well, the Visa Officer will inform you so.
At the end of the interview, the officer will inform you if any of the outstanding documents, or fee remittances (eg: ROLF) are to be completed. If you are lucky enough, you can get the visa stamped in a few days' time after your interview, or even the same afternoon. Usually it is after 3:00pm they issue passports with visa.

Good Luck, RK ..!

just for the sake of curiosity, was the interview waived in the
initial assessment? i have a similar timeline but i got the interview
waiver in may too and haven't heard anything ever since although I was
asked to do the medical and send the ROLF in the assessment letter.
Thanks and good luck.
