I am applying for PR in the independent category.

I have already been asked for the medical examination. Does it mean that I will not
be called for the interview?

Hi:

Just because you were requested to attend a medical examination does not mean that
you have received an interview waiver. CIC has the right to request that you attend
an interview at anytime.

Yours truly, Ingrid Y. Chen, B.A., LL.B.

That depends, largely, on the visa office to which you had applied. If you are
applying in the USA, it is common to issue the medical examinations prior to a
selection decision. In most other cases, issuance of the medical examination forms
does signify a positive selection decision.
