The letter 'regarding approval in principle' arrived today. I've been deemed eligible to apply as a spouse in Canada (yay!), but they require more documentation:

- A US state police certificate (I sent an FBI certificate with my application)
- A police certificate from England, although I haven't lived there since 1993.

I'll call CIC tomorrow to check this - according to both the guide and the letter, police certificates are only required for countries where I've lived in the last 10 years.

Hopefully this won't slow things by too much...

page 18 says police certificates where you have resided for 6 months or more since turning 18.

For each country in which you or your family members have lived for more than six months during the past 10 years, you must provide a police certificate, clearance or record of no information
