Default Incorporating a company..

Hi,

I recieved AIP a few weeks ago for inland spouse sponsorship. Is there
anything stopping me from incorporating a business before my full PR is
issued?

I don't plan on trading until I am 100% legitimate, but I would like to
get everything set up before hand. Is this possible, since I will not
actually be 'working' for the business as yet?

Thanks,
Simon

Setting up a business has nothing to do with your immigration status -
business can be established even by someone not being present in Canada, as
long as person is not working in the company here.

But with AIP in your hand you may simply apply for open work permit and work
in your business anyway.

Does it cost money for an open work permit?

I think I have enough patience to wait for the PR.. I feel I've given
immigration enough money as it is, so I'd rather not pay any more unless
I have too!

What is AIP?

Can I open a business in canada while I'm in USA and my PR file is pending?
If so, what's the easiest way to open a business?

AIP - approval in principle for spousal sponsorship applications filed
within Canada.

And yes, you can start a business in Canada while in US and your PR
application is pending - but you won't be able to work in your company
without proper work permit or PR status.

What kind of business? We have here in Canada same legal forms of businesses
as in US and selecting proper form depends from many factors. But if you
hope that by starting a business here you can come over and work in your
business then it is not so, at least not in most cases.
