Hello all!
I'm having a little problem, and am hoping some of you might be able to help. I've been trying to complete the documents that will give me the 5 bonus "Relative in Canada"points. I have an uncle who's a Canadian PR in Toronto who's willing to assist me. My problem is that the birth certificates that prove he is my mother's brother have some minor inconsistencies. My maternal grandparents were illiterate, and had to state their names to the Civil Registrar, who logged their names into the birth certificate document differently. They had no clue what was written on that piece of paper. My mother's birth certificate has my grandmother's full name (first name and last name) , whereas in my uncle's birth certificate -- they split up my grandmother's first name, put one part of it as "first name", and another part of it as "last name". My grandfather's name is a bit better on both documents -- just misspelled. My question is: 1) Is this a big deal, or can I just write a clarification letter and append it to the documents? 2) How else might I prove the relationship with my uncle? (He is already writing me a letter of support.) Has anyone out there used pictures? 3) Any other ideas? Thanks so much!!! Mark |
