Default Including mortgage as a proof of funds

Hi,

We're in the process of putting together our application after receiving an ITA and have a query over the proof of funds. I've seen comments about not being able to include equity in a house as proof, which is fine because we have enough without it. However, if we get a summary of account from our bank to show this, it will show our mortgage. If they take this as a debt, we will not have enough to meet the criteria, but surely if they won't accept a house valuation as proof of funds, they can't count a mortgage as a debt!?! Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks in advance.

You need to show you have cash available and you say you have this. The mortgage is irrelevant in this instance.
