Default important, mr miller or other expert.

Hi

I was just wondering if you could clarify a point for me?

My wife is a Canadian citizen and an approved sponsor and currently my application
for PR is lodged with CHC London. As it is it seems there are delays all round and
things are taking reasonable lengths of time, like i havnt gotten an AOR or anything
yet after 5 weeks whereas my friends submitted the same spousal case to london after
me and got one in 8 days. I was wondering wether or not my wife is allowed to come
and visit me? I presume she is and i think it is only PR's who have to remain in
Canada during sponsorship applications? However i want to make sure before i buy her
a plane ticket as i think it would be easier for her to visit me rather than me try
and enter Canada as a visitor during an application, plus i need to wait for the AOR
and then medical papers etc so dont want to leave the country. Please can you confirm
she is allowed to leave Canada and come visit me during the sponsorship so i can
cheer her up and buy her a ticket.

Thanks

Drew

yes, she can come visit you..

the requirement is, in order to sponsor, the person needs to be a resident of canada, actually living in canada at the time of sponsorship (except the exceptions ofcourse)... that does not mean that if the sponsor is actually a resident, then the person is not allowed to come and go out of canada... on the contrary they may come and go as they please for business or pleasure... since their residence is still canada..

same is true for either citizens or pr's

thanks, thats what i thought, i looked on the canada passport site and it said a
Canadian Citizen on holiday as a tourist is still considered resident in Canada so
that seems to confirm it.
