Hi, I am a software engineer working in USA for nearly 4 years and I have just
started my Canadian immigration under Independent category, I had sent everything by
courier 15 days back. Today it was confirmed to us that my wife is Pregnant, now, how
will this effect my application. FYI my child will be US citizen.

Thanks, Princy Singh

First of all, congratulations!

You are seeming to have the same situation that I have been in.

I started my Canadian immigration process in early Nov. 2000, and shortly after I
sent out the package, I realized that my wife was pregnant. The pregnancy will
definitely delay your application process if you couple do care your baby's health,
because your wife shouldn't under-go the X-ray exam when she is pregnant.

I got the interview waiver in early March 2001, and was asked to take the medical
exam. I completed the medical exam. My wife completed the medical exam also but
without the X-ray. In early July 2001, my baby was born. In early August, I got my
baby's passport and sent a package to buffalo requesting adding my baby into my
application. In the end of Auguest 2001, we received the medical form for my baby and
my wife was asked to complete the X-ray.

We received the LP on January 14th this year, and the expiry date is in early April.

Hope this info helps, and good luck!
