Hi
That is the opting out legislation, but I can't find legislation where it is compulsory. It maybe a local school board in some areas that insist it be done. Try searching British Columbia+Immunization+School you get a number of sites.

Kids with leukaemia and other immuno-compromised conditions can't be vaccinated at all, but I bet there are loads of them in the public school system in BC and elsewhere, so there must be something in law excluding them from the requirement. I'd bet there are also religious/ethical exemptions too.
I still can't access any BC gov sites![Embarrassment](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/redface.gif)
Edit: is this the relevant bit of legislation here? http://www.qp.gov.bc.ca/statreg/stat....htm#section13

I can't find anything from BC ed about it, I just think in line with every other authority in Canada they're making it appear at first sight that it's compulsory, but it's not really. The myth starts with CIC by them mentioning childhood vaccination certificates on the COPR, as if they were a requirement for landing...
Richmond say "if available", not compulsory ( http://www.sd38.bc.ca/RegDocs/Reg501_8-5 ), but it would be nice to see an official education dept policy in black and white. It's easy enough to find the province policy for most other provinces (all have opt-outs that I've seen so far) - why's it so tricky to find anything concrete for BC? (unless there isn't any and they just use the health act legislation?)

Another edit: Finally could open and read the School Act for BC and there's nothing to say it's compulsory there - http://www.qp.gov.bc.ca/statreg/stat...art6_division3
