Immigration question

Hi all, I'm thinking of trying for PR status in the next two years or so, and because of
family circumstances I need to hold onto property (family home) here in Scotland. Will I
be allowed to apple to Canada even though I'll be retaining property in this country? I
realise that I must have $10000 CDN before I can apply, is this correct?
Thanks for all your help

Hi:
You are permitted to own property in other countries once you become a Canadian
permanent resident.
CIC uses the guideline of $10,000 CDN and $2,000 per dependent for funds available for
settlement.
Yours truly, Ingrid Y. Chen, B.A., LL.B.

The fact that you will hold onto property in Scotland is not a factor in your eligibility
for immigration to Canada.
>
You should be able to demonstrate the possession of CAD$10,000 plus CAD $2000 per
accompanying dependent. Additional information on this topic may be found at Campbell,
