Default Immigration/Migration from India (Mumbai) to canada for work

Hi,

I'm a male (single) im my late 20's aspiring to work in Canada.

Qualifications -

>Graduation - B.sc

>Post graduate in Packaging Science technology (2 years full time from Mumbai)

>Post graduate in Business Administration [major:marketing] (2 years full time from Mumbai)

>2.5 years of Work experience in the field of sales and marketing out of which 1 year was in Africa.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've no relative/friend in Canada.

For the info regarding getting into Canada without work this is what i've got -

I personally visited a abroad visa consultant agency called 'Y-AXIS' in Mumbai.they've branches all over India & head-office in California.

According to Y-AXIS -

1. The papers after final evaluation have to goto canada by June 2011;if not then i'll have to send the papers by 2012 only, thus the papers can go only once a year.

2.Then if the law changes then the process changes.

3.it may happen that canada stops accepting docs for 2012 or 2013, u never know.

4.as per the job codes available open in canada the agency said that after the evaluation of my CV & experience i'm entitled for the job code of 'senior marketing consultant' & i've scored 67 points required to fulfill the eligibility to get canadian visa.

5.Their fees - Evaluation - rs.1000/-
Processing fees - rs.67,000/-
WHen file is prepeared - CND 550
After 3 months for processing the final file is sent to canada CND 490

Total of rs.1,16,000/-

Then the Above is without job guarantee and no lodging/food facilities, of course informal assistance will be given by the agency.

Then they said there are chances of interview with the canadian consulate but chances are very less.

I'll also have to give IELTS exam for rs.7200/- for which minimum score should be 7.0 - listening & 6.5 for others.

There will be medical exam in india.

After 2 months stay in canada (irrespective of job) i'll get 'SOCIAL SECURITY' NUMBER & after 2 years i'll get PR stamp on my passport & i'll be eligible for applying for citizenship, which i may get after the next 3 years;so no citizenship for minimum 5 yrs after landing in canada. The whole process takes 8-10 months before i can land in canada.

So pals, this is all the info i got.

I just want to know if all the above is true & should i go ahead with it i.e pay the agency to furnish the details?

Is it possible to do the above without the agency?

I would request the Indian members who have gone to canada (preferably those gone without job) & settled there to reply as they would give the INDIAN PROCESS in detail.

Thankyou!

In Canada its illegal to have to pay a job agency to place you in a job. Its the employer that pays.

Many people come to Canada having done it all without an outside agent. I would be sceptical of offers that seem too good to be true or that cost many thousands of dollars. If I did wish to use an agency to help get me to Canada I would use one that specialises in Canada, rather than a jack of all trades master of none one.

Your best bet if you havent already is to read the wiki articles (blue bar) regarding job seeking in Canada and the immigration process in general and see what you think. Then go to the official CIC website. Its not that hard to do, but the paperwork can seem intimidating at first, and of course there are expenses involved. An agent need not be one of them.

On those grounds alone I would be sceptical. If I did wish to us an agency to help get me to Canada I would use one that specialises in Canada, rather than a jack of all trades master of none one.

I'm confused - what NOC code are they suggesting you apply under? Unless it's one of the 29 eligible ones for a Skilled Worker visa, then your point score is irrelevant.

If you don't have a job on 'the list' (doesn't sound like you have), then you cannot apply as a Skilled Worker without a job offer approved by HRSDC.

They're also giving you wrong information - you can only apply once a year?! Erm, no, you can apply anytime if you are eligible. After two years you can apply for PR? Again, no, you can apply anytime if you meet the criteria. And you need to have been a PR living in Canada for 3 years before you can apply for citizenship. So they seem to be full of misinformation!

I think you should forget this 'agency' (do they even have a licensed CSIC consultant on staff? doesn't sound like it) and start reading the Wiki and CIC website to see if you qualify for a visa.

Good luck.
