Immigration medical requirements

Hi,

Another question. I understand that you do a medical examination as part of the assessment for resident application. However do they also look at your NHS medical records?

Worried about something coming up which happened years ago and is no longer an issue but might not look good.

I don't believe so, but sure someone will confirm shortly. I think they are more concerned about your current health status, and any long term illnesses or diseases you may have, to determine if you would be a burden on the health system here.

No-they have no access to these. You just have to declare your health issues as you know them. Little point in concealment as these would catch up with you! When you can, if you prefer perhaps PM me with a sketch of the issues and I will try and help advise you as a doc working here

You will need to answer all questions truthfully, but tbh there's very little that would cause a refusal, so you should be fine.

Good luck.

Hi, re medical records, eg NHS, I asked my doctor to list ALL my medication, as I have heart problems. I took this to my medical and gave the medimigration Dr the list, C.I.C. Can look at my medical records, I have hidden Nothing. I also had extra medicals at a private hospital, cardiac Specialist up to the minute report, found I had irregular heart beat, booked to see my Dr who sorted this out, by way of increasing one tablet. What I am trying to say is be honest and upfront, as you will expect the same....Alan.

When we did ours I think one of the questions was about hospital admissions in the last 2 years.... so if it was further along than that you should be ok.

I might be wrong. What I will say is that the medical was very very basic. I'm sure our guy was a total slacker.
