Default Immigration & health insurance

I could have sworn I was reading a post not that long ago about immigration insurance, but i've searched and can't seem to find it again.

I plan on landing in Ontario this September to activate my PR. I know that OHIP has a 3 month waiting period, I am looking to bridge the 3 month gap, in case I anything happens (I am type 1 diabetic, so figure it's best not to take any chances).

Is there any specific immigration insurance packages? Or would backpackers insurance suffice?

We used Canadasure too but again haven't claimed so far anyway. Goes off to find some wood to tap...

I'm surprised you didn't get a response as they pride themselves on their customer service. Did you try calling their freephone number instead?

I didn't go chasing. I compared three companies just to get an idea of range and went from there. It was Christmas time, I was snowed (not literally in Wales) under!
