Default immigration assitance please

hey everyone , im new to this forum just today i have a query that i need aswering if possible

I entered canada as a visitor on september 29th 2011to visit family in yukon , im a british citizen so did not need a visa for entry , so i just got a stamp in my passport with the date i entered on (6 months ) . However when i was there my passport got lost and i needed a replacement emergency document to travel back to the uk . What my question is is will canadian officials think ive overstayed because i left on a different passport ? , and will i have any problems if going back there in the future ? thankyou

Welcome to BE.

You will be fine. Firstly Canada has no formal exit monitoring anyway,

Secondly your temp document and new passport will be linked to your old passport number assuming that the government has a record of them.
