Default IMM 5707e

Hi,

Quick question.
So I am currently completing my application for my PGWP. The form is asking for my current occupation. I have a job in place to work as an ECE, but I am unable to start it until my PGWP is submitted, which should be tomorrow or Friday. The company is holding the position, so I can start asap.

Do I list my occupation as unemployed as I haven't started the job yet, or do I put ECE as I have a job in place?

Thanks

Umm are you sure you have the right form number? Are you completing it online? Do have a read over the guidelines for applying for a PGWP https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...ent-guide.html
or by paper... https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...ide-paper.html

Have you had your up-front medical? You will need to have one if you will be working as an ECE - working with children.. better to get that before you apply for your work permit as you will need that restriction removed from the TWP.

Thanks for the reply,

I do need the IMM 5707e as I am applying for my family's permits to be extended too. I am also completing the IMM5710 to have my permit changed to a PGWP

As for the medical, I did speak to an immigration officer recently about this. I actually had my medical done 2 years ago and have been working in the ECE field since then. The officer wasn't sure, so I was put on hold a couple of times. He then informed me that I shouldn't need a medical as it had already been done. But, I should create a supporting letter to include with my file to explain.

Medicals are normally only valid for a year and need to be re-done after this - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...rtificate.html

So I'd double check the info you've been given. Are you sure you spoke to an immi officer, or was it just the CIC call centre?

So it was the call centre that I made the call to, not an immigration officer. Apologies, I thought they were the same thing.

The guy that I spoke to made enquiries after our call and then emailed. This is part of his response.

"Good day, we spoke earlier on the phone –
This is additional information regarding medical exams concerning your Post Graduate Work Permit. Although the information I provided in that other email doesn’t explicitly describe it, in your particular case, you likely will not need to submit to a new medical exam for your application, provided you haven’t been outside of Canada for more than 6 (six) months since your original medical exam results were processed and issued. However, as is the case for most applications, on a case-by-case basis, it will be up to the officers working on your application to determine if you are required to submit to a new exam, and will contact you, even after you’ve submitted your PGWP application.
For convenience’s sake, I’ve included some information regarding panel physicians, in case that request may occur, but generally -- the officers will be able to see your previous medical results on file."

So I am confused, can I work as an ECE based on this? Or do I go by the website?
