IELTS and TEF.
hey all,
i have a friend of mine who received a letter from the CHC asking him
to present resluts for TEF,IELTS or any other thing proving his
knowledge in french and english.
What the other things can be?
aren't TEF and IELTS mandatory?
do they accept recognized university diplomas?

Re: IELTS and TEF.
IELTS and TEF are two recognized test that may be submit and will be
accepted as ABSOLUTE proof of ability.
It is mandatory to submit some evidence. In all cases you should submit the
best evidence available. Obviously, evidence that will be accepted as
absolute proof is the best evidence.
If you do not submit the tests you will need to demonstrate your level of
ability as related to the Benchmarks.
When looking at the Benchmarks, I am left wondering how any piece of paper
would establish my speaking or listening ability.
Submitting anything other than a recognized test leaves room for the
officer's interpretation of your evidence.
Many people are surprised by the difficulty of the tests. So it is a good
idea to prepare. There are several practice tests and guides that can be
purchased.
One online that we know of is www.immigrationlanguagetesting.com
This will give estimates of what you would score on the test and will give
you some chance to focus your preparation.
I understand that as this online version develops security features and
another module, it may be submit for recognition as proof.
Some counsels are using the test in addition to other evidence to at least
get their cases submit.
