Default ielts:general or academic

hie everyone
just another question from me. i did the ielts exam for my nursing registration in australia but we decided to go to canada in the end.,however i did the academic version instead of the general one does it matter if i submit the results for my academic ielts exam or it has to be strictly the general one. i would rather avoid it if i can as its quite costly and i do get very anxious about exams (results were 8.5 in all bands except speaking ,got a 9)
thank you!

Has to be General I'm afraid. If you read the relevant page on the CIC website, it says "Note: IELTS has two options for the reading and writing tests: “General Training” and “Academic.” You must take the “General Training” option."

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigra...ge-testing.asp

So looks as if you'll have to sit the exam again, good luck!
