Default IEC - Implied Status - Bridge Open Work Permit?

I currently am applying for the CEC class as I'm found eligible. Just recently in the last few months they introduced the Bridge Open Work Permit which is a open work permit which allows you to work while your PR application is processing.

To be eligible they said all you need to do is have a positive decision from your P.R application and apply for it within 4 months of your visa expiring. I'm currently going to apply for one when I get positive decision (AOR) but have a feeling the bridge open work permit is going to be still processing come visa expiring time since it takes 1-2 months for it to process.

Since it's fairly new I'm not sure where to look so I'm asking here. I know you're not eligible for Implied status with the IEC but it says you are allowed implied status if you applied for a work permit (in my case bridge work permit) and are still waiting for a decision made. So I'm pretty confused what to think lol

If I'm not eligible for implied status can I come back as a visitor while I wait?

I have no idea whether you would qualify for the bridging visa, some say yes and others no.

In regards to the 2nd part of your question, you would put in an application to change your status to visitor before your IEC runs out.

Whilst you are waiting for it to be processed you would be on implied status, provided you don't leave Canada. If you send it by mail, that would give you approximately 109 days implied status; by online application 57 days. If you need the additional time, then obviously sending it by mail would be to your advantage; just make sure that CIC receive it prior to your IEC visa expiring.
