Default IEC & Common Law

I am currently living with my Canadian girlfriend in Canada on a 1 year work permit.

My plan would be to apply for a common law visa after a year and shortly after apply for a work permit through IEC.

Is there anything stopping you from applying for both a common law visa and IEC work permit?

No, because the spousal (common law) application is for PR (it's not a visa) and the IEC is a working holiday visa - so you can do both.

I'm also looking at applying for common law with my girlfriend. Where can I find the documents?

No, you don't want to use that one unless you are prepared to wait at least 6 months for 1st stage approval and a further 8 months + for PR. That is for Inland applicants.

Use the Outland application pack - it's far quicker - and totally acceptable even if you are living in Canada at the time.

Nope.

Just make sure you continue living together throughout.
