Default Identity and Civil Status Documents - Spousal Sponsorship

Hi Folks,

Two questions on the application form:

(1) On "Appendix A" Checklist (Question 6) it asks for "national id cards, birth certs or other official documents confirming relationship for you and each family member"

If you are being sponsored by your spouse and your kids are Canadian, do you need to provide all this, or just your marriage certificate?

(1a) Do you need to provide "photocopies of Citizenship for member who are canadian citizens (but are not part of the application - i.e. my kids who do not need visa as they have Canadian passports)

2) On Question 8 it asks for "passports for you, spouse and dependent children". Again - do you have to provide copies of these if the rest of your family are all Canadian?

Generally, is the rule of thumb to give them too much documentation to avoid any hold ups for addtional documentation requests?

Thanks!

You need to provide a photocopy of your spouse and kids CCC or passport. This lets the immigration officer know that there are no mistakes, that they are Canadian, and that they will not in the future be suddenly added to the immigration application.
