Hey Mario,

No matter what you do, please do not live in the US or any country illegally. Not only
that will cease your chance applying any other visa in the States, but will also damange
your only chance of freedom to Canada!! Besides, with Republicans in power in the next 4
years, there is no help for human rights whatsoever. So Run! Run as fast as you can to
Canada!! Here is another great country will accept for who you are.

There are many resources out there to help your situation. Check out the website
http://www.buddybuddy.com/toc.html Within this website, definitely check out
www.smith-hughes.com/olimm.htm

Mr. Hughes is the best immigration Barrister you can find for issues concerning
gay/lesbain bi-national couples. For the fact that your partner has been accepted as
PR in Canada, you shouldn't worry yourself to death at this point. Even without any
working experience yet, he will be able to get you to Canada under Humanitarian &
Compassionate ground.

Be Calm, you will be ok. Deep breath, there is a hope for you yet.

Dear Mario:

Once your partner obtains Canadian permanent residency, you will be able to apply for a
Minister's permit.

The procedure for same-sex couples differs quite significantly from the procedure for
family class sponsorships.

The overseas same-sex partner must submit an application for permanent residency at an
overseas Canadian visa office. The overseas partner must specify on the application for
permanent residency that they are applying on the basis of "humanitarian and compassionate
grounds", as a same-sex partner. This will exempt them from having to qualify under the
Independent Immigrant point system.

The Canadian (or permanent resident) partner does not have to qualify financially, and
therefore does not have to submit a "Sponsorship Application" to the Case Processing
Centre in Mississaugua, Ontario. However, the Canadian (or permanent resident) partner
should forward a "letter of support" to the Canadian visa office indicating that they are
willing to provide financial support to their overseas same-sex partner.

The overseas same-sex partner must satisfy a visa officer that their relationship to their
Canadian or permanent resident partner is bona fide, and not a union of convenience. The
overseas partner must have an intention of residing with the Canadian (or permanent
resident) partner.

For more information on same sex partnerships go to

Yours truly, Ingrid Y. Chen, B.A., LL.B.

Mario,

It should be pretty easy process to do it. You can look at other people's replies because
these are very helpful. I know Rob Hughes from Vancouver and he is really helpful. I am
not sure about the exact price for his service, but it may be worth to go through him if
you want to make sure that the process goes very smooth. Check this out
www.smith-hughes.com/olimm.htm

It is not worth for you to live in the U.S. illegally. You will never feel "safe" and
"secure" living illegally at any countries. You are still young, so please do not screw up
your life. There is another country you can move to and have a good life, so go for it.

Good luck!

AK
