HRSDC LMO Timeline

Re: HRSDC LMO Timeline
Hi guys, it 's my first post on this forum as I am new in the LMO waiting line
I am French but we are all in the same boat, aren't we??
Here comes my timeline:
My employer (from Vancouver) submitted the LMO app. last Monday (Oct. 29th). I called Service Canada the day after and they told me they are currently processing applications received on May 17th!!! :curse: I had read that on this forum but I just couldn't believe it!
When I asked them if there were any way to speed up the process, they told me my employer had to call them. He did it and was told to send another letter, and that within 5 days we would be told if we are eligible for "expedited opinion".
My question is: are we losing our time or is there any chance for this expedited opinion request to be granted?
My job (sales & marketing manager, code 0611) is not on the list of the 12 under pressure occupations eligible for E-LMO in BC.
Have you ever heard of expedited opinions for jobs which are not on the list and are not very specialised?
Thank you for your answers and for this forum

Exactly......look whats happened to us when we finally got long awaited news from Service Canada.:curse:
I'm thinking of unsubscribing from this thread...its soul destroying
Scott have you or your employer phoned SC lately to see what the heck they are doing with your application. What does the employer say?

Re: HRSDC LMO Timeline
My employer seems fine - he's happy with the wait (well not happy, but accepting!) and has heard on some other foreign staff he hired a few weeks before me. I don't think he will chase just yet because he knows they are taking a while.

Re: HRSDC LMO Timeline
But I've read a thread on a Japanese site that a lady who submitted LMO on Jun 18 received the result on Oct 24 after her employee called Service Canada. I don't know what's going on!!

we are in the same van. I applied from France too for a temporary work permit.
My employer applied on line (HRSDC Vancouver) on the 10th of August.
HRSDC received LMO application on the 13th of August.
After 11 weeks of waiting, I asked my employer to send a letter (after numerous phone calls).
I have just received the answer now (forwarded by my employer) :
RE: Your reQuest for an expedited labour Market Opinion
In response to your request for expedited service on the above mentioned applications. I regret to inform you that we cannot accommodate your request. Due to the current backlog we are only able to expedite applications of an emergency nature.Though the situation may be urgent, it is not an emergency. In this regard your application will be processed with the other
applications received August 13. 2007. For your information, we are currently processing applications received May 18, 2007.
In addition, if the foreign worker's work permit is set to expire, inform the foreign worker to contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada at 1-888-242-2100.CIC's concurrent processing time has increased from 45 days to 90 days. Sincerely,
If you have a look at LMO time line in BC, it's becoming worse and worse :
Date LMO running Out of Scedule
08/30 04/27 -123
09/12 05/03 -129
10/01 05/07 -144
10/05 05/09 -146
10/23 05/15 -158
11/05 05/18 -167
I am waiting for 12 weeks today and I think I will celebrate X-Mas in France...
Feel free to ask your employer to write a letter, but I am afraid you will have the same answer...
Bon courage.
