They could've had a reduction in incoming lmo's, or staff increase at HRSDC? I was just illustrating that because we don't know how many lmo's are waiting in the que, or how many they process per week, giving you that info is irrelevant - what would have been better would be an estimated date to receive yours.

Anyway, chin up - it'll be here soon!

I know- I am actually by nature an optomist ! I have been reckonign the queue won't be as bad as all the bank holidays over easter will cut a few days out etc! Who am I kidding?

I'm kinda hoping that they might provide me with a five year lmo in order to reduce waiting times for the future, and as a consilation for the long wait........now thats optimism!

Funny you should say that as our LMO was for 5 years!!!! Don't think we'll get it though- haven't actually heard of anyone getting more than 3. Also the firm ticked a box - is this temporary with intention to make permanent ? and I am worried this will hold it up!

I think my new boss applied for 2 years - he also sent a covering letter asking if they could expedite the application as the position had been vacant (and advertised on job bank) for 9 months prior. I was hoping that the letter may have had some effect, but it doesn't appear to have had - 10 weeks on Tuesday

I think they operate in strict queue order unless the job is in some special government sanctioned area.

Otherwise they would spend their whole time answering the phone to employers insisting their employee is the most important in the whole world.

Slightly annoyed that they don't appear to give any preference to those in occupations under pressure

My girlfriend's LMO application was submitted last Friday - she got a phone call yesterday asking (they were trying to get hold of her boss who's on holiday) for some clarification on a point. Does this mean they're processing it already? Or maybe it's just at the data input stage before it actually gets processed. Her boss submitted the application using the online system.

Depending on the question it is probably just the data input as it's so soon after the application.

OH and I submitted independent BC PNP applications with our respective employers. Me on Monday (9 July 07), OH on Tuesday (10 July). We put each other down as common-laws just a back-up in case one of us doesn't get through PNP.

BC PNP phoned OH on Wednesday as it was flagged that he was a common-law when they were opening his own PNP file. As the application is $550 they wanted to confirm that we were wanting to continue independently. As both employers are paying money not a problem but we thought it was really nice of them to check this.

The wait continues....................

My new boss has done a similar thing, contacted HRSDC and given them a start date of 20 Aug in a bid to try and speed things up. I don't think it's gonna make much difference to be honest, if it did everyone would try it and then it wouldn't have any effect at all!
