How many times can I get RRP

Hi:
There is nothing under the Immigration Act, or the Immigration Regulations which expressly
states that there are limits on how many times one is allowed to apply for a Returning
Resident Permit. But, what the Act and the Regulations do expressly state is that a person
can jeopardize losing there permanent residency status if they are no longer intending to
reside in Canada. When you apply for RRP, you must specify why you are leaving the country
for more than 6 months out of any 12 month period. The length of time depends on the
reasons that you have provided.
