Default How long is too long?

Dear experts,

Mr. A is not a terrorist, nor does he have any linkage with any terrorist organization or individuals. He has not committed any crime and has never been in the court of law for any crime neither has ever been in police custody. If we assume Canadian agency that performs background check will ultimately find out him what he truly is, how long would be the maximum time he will have to wait for the completion of the background check? In a response to a query, Buffalo replied that it requested for background check in November 2002 but has got no response from Ottawa yet.

So, how long would be too long to wait? How will this silence end? The background checker will ask for interview before rejection if it contemplates rejection?

Thank you.

The security check depends on the willingness of the countries where the applicant has lived to release information. It can go on forever or close to it. If his application is refused, he will not get an interview, just a refusal letter. If there are security concerns, he will most likely get a security interview to clear up the concerns.

Hi,

Waiting after successful interview and medical is very frustating. A friend of mine has been waiting for last three years after successful interview and medicals. Recently he got a letter from london office to attend an interview( he already attended selection interview three years ago).

I hope in this interview he is not going to be told that he is not eligible to come to canada because of security conditions. He has no criminal records but he is currently living in Qatar and working for Air force

Regards

S
