Hello,

I am French and I move to Victoria, BC. I had my medical examination one month ago and now
I am waiting for my permanent resident papers ? Does anybody know how long it takes ?

Thx. Denis.

Anywhere between several weeks to few months as long as you haven't resided in any country
where background/security check takes forever.

Assuming that there are no outstanding requirements in your case, you should expect
issuance of landing documents within 3-5 months of the completion of your medical
examinations.

Andrew,

I've lived in India, Malaysia, Canada and US for more than 6 months. Does any of
these contries 'take forever' for background checks?

Even I just finished my medicals.

Thanks,

Shibu

Background/security check in India and Malaysia takes longer than in US and Canada,
but it is not as bad as China or some Middle East countries. If everything checks out
OK you should see your visa rather soon (couple months).
