Default How long could mom visit

Hi

We are moving end of July, was wondering how long my mom could visit for? Would she have to get a visa?

Thanks

What citizenship is she? She may need a visa, depending on that.

If she doesn't need a visitor visa, then she can enter for up to six months (note the 'up to', it may not be as long as that, depending on the immi officer on the day), or alternatively if she's eligible she could look at the Supervisa which would give her up to 2 years.

HTH.

She could stay up to 2 years to a maximum of 10 yrs (renew every 2 yrs) if she applied for the super visa as explained here
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/supervisa.asp

If not applying for this then normally up to 6 months and can apply for extensions

How would we find out if she doesn't need a visitors visa? Will her age go against her she's 75.

In that case she doesn't need a visa and a 2 to 3 month stay should be fine.

Travel insurance could become a problem/very expensive as she heads towards 80.

Would it look odd if she came out the same day as us or would she need to come out after?

Wouldn't matter. Im assuming she will have a return ticket if only visiting for 2 to 3 months.

Super visa wouldn't be an option as the OP's are not PRs as yet, so wouldn't meet the LICO.

It wouldn't matter if she came with you. My parents came with us when we moved here (funnily enough from Wolves!!).

You will have to go through additional processing as you are migrating which can take up to two hours and your parents won't as they are non-immigrant (visitors).

Just make sure they have an address to confirm where they will be staying while they are here. Plus they will need to complete their own landing cards
