need help if anyone experience for background check from buffalo cic, how long before ppr. they encashed dd for rprf last month. any feedback highly appreciated

to amydavid I had medical july 10, and payment for rprf has encashed last july 16, i think we are on the same boat, please let me know if you received ppr.

I'm just wondering how long to wait for background check before they sent your ppr, chhers

Background checks take at least a few months and may be much longer depending upon how many countries you have lived in and which countries they were. If you have spent virtually all of your life in the UK it will not be long at all. My guess would be late September perhaps or a little quicker if you have a confirmed job offer. It is not something that lends itself to an exact calculation.

Does anybody know whether one is always done before the other - medical then background checks or vice versa? I probably should know this but don't as some people seem to infer one way then someone else comes along with something different?

Background usually comes first, since if you don't pass the background, what is the point of a medical?

Does everyone get a background check regardless of occupation? E.g. if you're a police officer and have only lived in the UK, do you still get background checked?

Apologies if I sound like a dunce, but I thought Buffalo only dealt with applications from the USA, Bermuda and St Pierre?

Another seemingly daft question - if we have police checks done, why do we have to have background checks as well?

If you've lived in Canada for over a year you're considered a Canadian Resident and can use the Buffalo office if you wish. I have for my FSW application.
