Default how to extend the work permit?

I am still waiting my PR eventhough it has been 14 months after the medicals.... And CAIPS says BFD is april 2004..so i still have to wait more.. Anyways my question is, i have a work permit until May 2004 which i was able to get with an after graduation employment up to 1 year rule.. Now my question is, how can I or my employer extend this visa... Is there any way we can do it or i have to wait for my PR with doing nothing and if i get it i get if i don't, will I have to lose my job? Please experts, or anybodyelse who has been on the same boat...
Thank you.

Your employer would have to get the job approved by HRDC that there are no
PR/CCs available for the position that he has advertised extensively.
Pretty unlikely for a post grad position, but not impossible. Post Grad
work permit cannot be extended.
If you do not have your PR and employer does not get approval, you will have
to apply for visitor extension or leave.

Post-graduate work permit cannot be extended. Your employer will have to
apply for validation of job offer to HRDC and once such is granted you
should apply for new work permit.
