Question How to..........

Hi,
Well we have made our decision to move to Canada.....but we seem to be caught in a catch 22 situation as we need to get jobs, currently I am an account manager in a food marketing company and my partner is an geo - environmental engineer (something that he thinks will help our move as he thinks it will be in demand out there) but we have no idea how to start looking for jobs out there ...............and will people really give us jobs when we don't already live in the country............???????????

Any help would be great....as I don't think we could cope if we fail at the 1st hurdle!

Thank you !

If you are both under 31 in the UK or 35 in Ireland, you may want to look into the International Experience Canada (IEC) Working Holiday Work Permit. Gives you a year working with no restrictions on employer and the possibility of a 2nd year too.

Thanks for the reply, problem is I'm 31 now and he is 28.......any more suggestions?
I'm getting a bit worried about it all now, just want to feel like we can start the process rather than just dreaming

I don't know if there's a particular area you want to go to, but Nova Scotia and I think Manitoba (?) have 'Community Identified' application processes, where you don't need to find employment to be able to go. Obviously you'll want to make sure you can find employment once you get there - for income's sake! - but you don't need to organise it beforehand..

Obviously if you want to go to Toronto or Vancouver these links won't be much use!
