Default Help with points for education

Hello,

Can anybody please help me to figure out how many points I would get for my education when applying for Permanent Residency?

I was at school for 12 years and subsequently did three years of correspondence study with the Open University, gaining a Diploma.

Also, my father's cousin lives in Canada (citizen), that makes him my "1st cousin once removed" - can anybody tell me whether I can get any extra points for this?

I'm slightly below the required 67 points unless my education is worth more than I thought.

Thanks for any help.

Andrew.

It depends on the number of hours (full time equivalent) for the diploma. Probably equate to either 12 points low end to 15 points, unlikely it would equate to 2 years full time study for 20. You get no points for your father's cousin.

A UK (undergraduate) diploma normally requires 2 years full time study beyond age 18. Open University study can be more complex as it depends on what credits one has received.

The OP should say how many Open University credit 'points' he has obtained. 120 points equates to one year full time study.
