Default Help

Hi

Sorry for yet another question

I have just read that after I have gained my PR (nov 10), the time I am living with my Canadian spouse gets taken into account for me to meet my residency to maintain the PR. We both live in the uk. Is this correct?

Also im not convinced that my PR card will arrive by the time I have to next go to Canada in Dec 2010. I have read that there is a form i need to complete for temporary admission. Is that correct?

Thanks again

m

Time spent overseas with a Canadian spouse will count for maintaining your pr residency requirements but won't count towards the time needed to get citizenship

As for the lack of PR card , won't be a problem getting into Canada, may be a problem boarding the plane though.

There have been a couple of threads on this , maybe someone will be along or you could do a search

There is no great mystery to the search function
http://britishexpats.com/forum/search.php

Select just the canada area or just canadian immigration and search for "travel document"

For a UK passport holder it really shouldnt be necessary, but as you will see, some airlines can be anally retentive about it, especially on one way flights.
