Default Health

I have Crohn's disease. It is under control, although I am on lifetime medication.

Is thier a " dont bother applying if you have the following" list anywhere, Also can anyone give me any links so that we can see how much health insurance will cost.

Cheers

Hi Tanya
I'm not sure if such a list exists but what they look out for is if anyone is going to be a drain on the health system, if you buy your own medication and include a letter stating this i wouldn't have thought it would bar you.
to be honest i don't know enough about chrons disease or the medical criterea, i suspect you need expert advise and any answers on here from non experts would only, at best, be a guess (unless someone has been through exactly the same)

Good luck

Red face Re: Health

i do not think crohns poses an excessive demand and does not pose a health/ safety problem for the canadian population! check out the designated medical practitioner handbook for guidance(download) and get a letter from your life insurer to ask if this condition loaded yor premiums or did u have their standard terms and conditions and get a specialist gastroenterology opinion letter stating the prospects/morbidity risk of the condition in your case.
then get a letter from your G.p attesting to u being o.k and then get something off the net regarding the disease and just submit it all.
it is going overboard, but my hubby had testicular cancer and i did all the above to make sure that they understood that he was o.k.
good luck!
