Have we any chance?

We have a son who is PR in Van. Me and hubby would like to get out there on the entepeneur visa. I have owned and managed a coffee shop since Nov 2010 and I will be 54 in January 2013. Could I apply for a pnp invester in BC before the end of the year and and sneak in before I lose points for being over 54.

Can you clarify exactly which visa route you are thinking of?

You mention 'entrepreneur', and points, but then say PNP investor, so are you meaning the Federal Entrepreneur program (which does have a points requirement, and no points for those over 54), or the BC PNP Investor/Business route, which has no points requirement that I'm aware of?

Yes, I think this is what I'm confused about. I believe that the fedral entepeneur route to BC is closed until further notice which is why we are now hoping that the pnp route will be an option for us. We are going to Vancouver in October and have booked into one of those seminars for more information but I was hoping someone on the forum would be able to enlighten us beforehand. What I really am not sure about is if we are too old for the pnp route. Also, we are hoping to open a type of English Tea Rooms type of business, would this qualify for the pnp? Sorry if I sound completely dim:confused:

There is no age limit for the BC PNP. In practice, older applicants
Do face more scrutiny, but with a solid business plan that includes creating outside jobs you should be OK.

So yes, you do have a chance.

Great news! Thanks for taking the trouble to reply :)
