Default Has anyone had an offer of a job in Canada recently??

Hi has anyone recently had an offer of employment in Canada??? Just wondering if their are jobs still over there and whether the recession has affected this. Or does Canada still want skilled workers??? Or will they want skilled workers again one day in a few years time when we are out of the recession??

A bit of a vague question, but my bro came out here last month and went home with 3 job offers.
Each province and industry is going to be different.
And if you're expecting to get a job offer from the comfort of your own home, I suspect you're not that lucky.

Various people on the forum have had job offers recently. As Jericho said, it will depend on the job and the province, and obviously you normally need to go on a job hunting reccie to stand any chance of finding an offer unless you have very specialist skills that would mean you'd be headhunted whilst in the UK.

If you haven't already, have a read of the Job Hunting section of the Wiki.

Good luck.

I've had 2 offers of employment in the last few weeks from construction companies based in Alberta, i already have my PR and to be honest would think this will help anyone applying for employment in Canada at the moment. It's depends on many factors including your status and work experience as to how easy/hard it is to secure employment.
Do you already have PR?

You can work in Canada on a TWP if you can secure employment with a valid LMO where required, in my experience you'll be lucky to secure employment within the consruction sector without having PR it is possible be not that easy. To be honest my advice for whats worth would be to apply for PR if your/Oh meet the current minimum requirements set out by CHC it could be a much more secure routeto go down. It took me about 7 months to secure my PR visa.
Hope this helps
