Default Grandparent moving over

So looking at it all. the 2 year visa is for countries that can't get an electronic entry to Canada. but if you British you can. so can she stay over 6months waiting for residency? when I try to get info online it says she can't get the 2 year visa and I think it's because she can get the electronic one?

can anyone help please ?
happy to get her the 2 year one if we can while we wait.

Country of citizenship/residency isn't eligible for the Super Visa (assume that's what you mean by the '2 year one'?). So she can apply for that.

Sponsoring a grandparent will take a while, so if you want her in Canada whilst it's processed, then yes, the Super Visa is the way to go.

HTH.

P.S. Just checking, but you moved to Canada before your move to Vancouver in 2016 that you mention in previous posts? It's just that you must have 3 full years of earnings in Canada to sponsor a parent or grandparent, so you need to have been there before 2016.

NO!
I hadn't read that!
so she could come over in jan 2019 on a six month?
then june 2019 apply for 2 year - takes her to june 2021

we do taxes - can we submit in feb 2020 and amend our last tax ? don't think it will be back for feb close of applications?
then is it 2 years from application or selection? how long does it take for selection?

that takes us to feb2022 - sp she could be six months short!!

she doesn't want to wait in uk - all her friends are dying!! she wants to just come over as life is too short !! I know it is a risk

How long have you actually been in Canada, and when will you have 3 years income from Canadian sources?

Here's the info you need - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...nts.html#table

You'll need to work out when you're eligible to sponsor and then apply the January afterwards (it's a lottery system, as visas are limited and go quickly).

In the meantime she can visit on the SV or a normal visit. Do also make sure she'll pass the medical, hopefully she's in good health, but another thing to think about.
