Got study permit but need help!
Well we came out to Nova Scotia on our hols with tickets to return end of September. We were also were waiting to hear back from CHC in London re application for study and open work permits before we went but didn't.
Anyway our acceptance/confirmation letters from CHC have arrived here to us in Nova Scotia and we now need to go through immigration to get our permits issued.
Please can anyone tell me what to do?
Will we all need to leave NS and say go over to the states for a short holiday and come back again to get our permits issued or can we make an appointment with immigration at Halifax Airport to get these issued without leaving the country?
Course starts beginning of September so can't fly out and come back again on the tickets we already have as would be too late
Hope someone can advise
Many thanks

Re: Got study permit but need help!
Just drive to nearest major border crossing with US, leave Canada and turn back to Canada before reaching US immigration booths.
Or, depending from the infrastructure of the crossing you may simply park your car on Canadian side and walk around Canadian customs/immigration building.

Re: Got study permit but need help!
Just to let you know that following a drive to Yarmouth and then going over to Maine US on the www.catferry.com as foot passengers and returning immediately, we successfully were issued our study and work visas at Canadian immigration when we returned to Nova Scotia.
It took about 1/2 hour to go through the paperwork and get the permits printed out and stapled into our passports and even though study doesn't start until september and ends in May we can stay until end of July which is great.
Thanks for your help
