OH applied under 1111. He has worked as an accountant for 6 years and has his ACCA certificates.

I am hoping that is going to be enough

I don't think NOC 1111 is exclusively for designated accountants. If fact the description states that articled students can qualify under this category. However, NOC 0111 might be a better fit for anyone who has their experience in industry or NFP sectors.

I know when we applied for our TWP the lawyer told us that there was one which a designation applied to and pretty sure that it is 1111

This is the list I have found online. I am pretty sure it is the correct code. I am just concerned that they won't accept part qualified even though he has his ACCA certificates.

Maybe I am just worrying about nothing. It comes and goes with the waiting, I keep thinking of reasons we won't get accepted

The link below is to the description of 1111

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/...spx?val65=1111

It does state that students of accountancy are included.

Think it is more important that the job role that you put on form matches the actual NOC description

Hi,

He is not a student. He is working full time and is self employed. He just never fully completed his designation as he has too much work on.

Hi

This is what I mean about one of the NOC's being more specific. For 1111

Employment requirements

* Chartered accountants require a university degree
and
Completion of a professional training program
approved by a provincial institute of chartered accountants and, depending on the province, either two years or 30 months of on-the-job training
and
Membership in a provincial Institute of Chartered Accountants upon successful completion of the Uniform Evaluation (UFE).

* Certified general accountants and certified management accountants require a university degree
and
Completion of a training program approved by the Society of Certified General Accountants or Society of Management Accountants and several years of on-the-job training
and
Certification by the Certified General Accountants Association or the Society of Management Accountants.

* Auditors require education, training and recognition as indicated for chartered accountants, certified general accountants or certified management accountants
and
Some experience as an accountant.

* Auditors may require recognition by the Institute of Internal Auditors.

* To act as a trustee in bankruptcy proceedings, auditors and accountants must hold a licence as a trustee in bankruptcy.

* Licensing by the provincial or territorial governing body is usually required for accountants and auditors practising public accounting.

So I thought - class yourself as an Auditor then but then it also says that Auditors might require IIA registration.

Having delved a little more NOC 0111 specifies:

Employment requirements

* A bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, commerce or a related field is required.

* Accounting and audit managers may require a recognized accounting designation (CA, CMA or CGA).

* A master's degree in business administration (concentration in finance), or another master's level management program may be required.

* Several years of experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning and analysis or other financial activities are required.

Hope this helps
