Hi to all! I have been reading this conference since I started to plan my application
for Indenpendant Immigrant visa. I would like to share my timeline with you all.

I applyed through Viena Office on 01.10.2000. Got File number in 4-5 weeks. Had
medicals in October 2001. Interview waived. Sent additional papers that they
requested on 01.11.2001. and paid ROLF. Got Immigration visa today 17.01.2002.

I am 25 years old, when I applyed I had around 1 year experiece during my
studies(some part time, some full time), and it was just after my graduation. Now I
have one more year of full time experience (I gained it during the process). My
occupation is Computer Programmer, have a sister in Canada(Vancouver). Speak, read
and write english fluently.(I sent result of TOEFL wit the score of 500 points).

At the end I have 2 more quiestions before I go to Canada.
1. On my immigration visa, they didn't put the correct Passport Validation Date. They
printed 14/04/2010. and it is 12/04/2010. Do I have to report it to somebody
before I land in Canada or it is going to fixed at the port of entry?
2. What else, except 'funds required' I have to bring up with me. What about the list
of goods ? What is it ? I am going to bring up with me only books, my clothes,
CDs, and some personal things.

I would like to thank you all, and wish you to get your visas soon. It would be great
not to accept the new law, and I wish you to break it down if it is possible.

If you have some more questions about my case, please ask.

Thank you very much again.

Jelena

Congratulations and best wishes. I would not worry about the error in the passport
validity date. You do need to make a list of your personal belongins that you intend
to take to Canada. The list should include the approximate value of the goods. You
can group items such as: 50 CDs value $600 etc. Jim Humphries

Is there any standard "good list" form that we need to download from the cic's web
site? Or, we just compose one using our own taste and style?

Thanks,

James

CIC has nothing to do with customs, so you won't find such document there. You may
use the Settlers Effects Accounting Document from Customs and Revenue website here:

http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/customs/i...ettlers-e.html

or you may just create your own list. There are no strict requirements, just make
sure that it is a clean and simple inventory list providing description and value of
items. Most items may be grouped for example - 2 boxes of kitchen utensils valued at
Can$100, 4 boxes of clothing valued at Can$500, etc.

Valuable items like electronic equipment should be itemized and have serial numbers
provided. Artwork and jewelry should be also itemized and preferably with individual
photos and formal valuation, just like most people make inventory of such valuables
for insurance purposes.
