I can't believe it's finally my turn to say it...just got my PP request in the mail today. AAGGHHHH...I applied to Buffalo in Feb 04 and had almost given up hope. Just 3 weeks ago I sent them an update about my status changing in the US from perm resident to citizen. Then today, THIS!!! YIPPEE, must have reawakened my case. Vancouver here we come....

Congratulations. And now you have US citizenship too, so no worries about keeping your green card (might be problematic otherwise).

Congratulations.

I am curious about what passport your visa will be going into. Do you have to wait to get a US passport before you can send it in to have the visa put into it?

Thanks, everyone for your good wishes and support. It has been so helpful being a part of this forum and knowing that I wasn't alone in all of this! As for which passport I will use for my shiny new visa..I just got my US passport through but I will use my UK one for the visa, simply because that is the original one I used to apply with. I faxed cic a copy of my US passport so they know that I have two...I firmly believe my informing them of my change in status in the US is what got things moving again. Thanks to Andrew Miller for advising me to do this!!!

Good luck everyone....Tracey

I could be off the mark with this one so if I am I apologise. I am under the impression that on taking up US citizenship you must renounce all over citizenship rights. If this is the case travelling on your UK passport may be illegal as you are no longer a British Citizen. It may be worth checking this. In any case make sure that you leave the US on your US passport.

Its one of those weird cases where the UK recognizes dual citizenship but the US doesn't. From what I understand, it only really applies if you try to exert British citizenship over US while in the US - they have no problem with you holding two passports...at least thats what I THINK! If any experts know differently, please let me know!!!

Well good for you! I'd suggest not letting the US authorities know of the dual citizenship just in case..
